Kudos to Will for bringing back neck scarves

It's been a while, hasn't it? Thanks so much for all the messages wondering if I've run off to the Caribbean with Vladimir, the pool boy. For those of you who've written and received no response or, a response that's so delayed, you don't even remember why you wrote to me in the first place, I apologize. I'm finding it difficult to maintain my usual pace.

As much as I hate to do it, I have to admit that I'm not the bad-ass warrior I thought I was. For the past 2 or 3 years, I've had some pretty unpleasant symptoms that have progressively gotten worse. I shouldn't have waited so long to go to the doctor. Lesson learned. I've spent the past few months having a lot of tests and enjoying the anxiety that goes along with all of that. On Thursday, my under-performing whacked-out thyroid gland is being removed. I'm looking forward to a much healthier 2009 not only for myself but, for the rest of the country, too.

As soon as I'm feeling up to it, I'll be back. In the meantime, I'm wishing all of you a happy and healthy holiday and all the good times you can handle.

Yup, was wondering where you'd gone off to, and am sorry to hear it was nowhere with Vlad.

Good luck Thursday. Who needs a thyroid anyway?

consider yourself hugged and tucked safely into the reiki box for healing energies.

tough luck on no Vlad though, would of been a heck of a story.

Hope the surgery goes well! Thyroids can really mess with you when they're not "right," can't they?

Since Vlad is probably out of the question at this stage in the game, I've decided to channel my energies to coming up with creative ways to tie neck scarves. Maybe I'll even learn to make some of my own.

Many thanks to you all for the positive thoughts and good wishes. In return, I promise not to post any photos of the post-surgical healing process.

Kim....I'd heard (around the virtual water cooler) many comments of "where's Kim??", but wasn't concerned since I know you're super busy. Anywho, sorry to hear that it's health related but glad to know there is a 'cure'. Best of luck with your surgery....take it easy and be good to yourself..

When the thyroid no longer cooperates, it's gotta go! I hope today's procedure is gentle on you. 2009 is bound to be a far more "balanced" experience for you.

thyroid is one of those wonderful things that can drive a person batty!! Thank goodness it's curable - just hate that it leaves a lovely scar, and you have to go through so much to get to feeling Better!

I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers Kim!!
